Hi Sandeep,

Out of the box, item-level permissions is available only for Lists. Even if you enable item-level permissions for list, the items get the permission of the user whoever is creating that item. You cannot include any other default permissions you might need.

Out of the box, there is no UI to manage item-level permissions for document libraries like Lists. However, you can go and edit each item after creating them and change permissions. If you need to have item-level permission whenever the item is created, you can only do it via code. This tool helps you achieve that by either using the UI or using the API.

Using the UI, you can enable/disable item-level permissions for document libraries. Using the API, you can enable/disable item-level permissions for document libraries & lists.

Hope it is clear. I am more than happy to make you clear if not :)

Thanks,

Chaks
